Rozbasket Saheli · For producers
You make it.
We've already sold it.
Most women who make excellent food don't lack skill. They lack a market — and the packaging, the labels, the customers and the delivery van that stand between a good pickle and somebody buying it. Rozbasket already has all four. We tell you the quantity for the week before you start making it, and we buy that quantity.
No fee to join. No exclusivity — keep selling wherever else you already do. Talk to us in Telugu, Hindi or English.

Your job
Make a good product. That's it.
- Make the product to the same recipe, in the same way, every batch
- Keep the unit clean and let us see it whenever we ask
- Hold an FSSAI registration or licence in her own name — we help with the form
- Tell us early if a week's quantity is not going to be ready
Our job
Everything after that
- Tell her the quantity for the week before she starts making it
- Buy the agreed quantity, whether or not every unit sells
- Food-grade packaging, and a label with the legal declarations on it
- Batch checks — weight, seal, taste, and the paperwork behind them
- Pricing, listing, photography and the catalogue entry
- Collection from her unit, storage, and delivery to every society
- Every customer conversation, complaint, refund and replacement
Why this is different
You stop making what nobody ordered
Anyone can offer a women-led food business somewhere to list its products. Only a service whose orders close the night before can tell you the quantity first — and then buy it.
Selling on your own
Make 20 kg and hope. Sell 14. The other 6 kg is your loss — the ingredients, the gas, and the day.
With Rozbasket
We tell you on Wednesday to make 14 kg for Thursday, because households have already ordered it. You make 14. We buy 14.
We can do this because our customers order the night before, by 11:00 PM. We are not guessing at demand — we are reading it. How the morning works →
What we can take
Anything that keeps at room temperature
The list is short on purpose. Everything on it survives a day in a van in May without refrigeration — and until we run a cold chain, that is the honest limit of what we can sell for you.
Pickles and preserves
Mango avakaya, gongura, lemon, tomato, garlic, mixed vegetable
Podis and spice powders
Karam podi, kandi podi, nuvvula podi, sambar and rasam powder, garam masala
Millet and grain flours
Jowar, bajra, ragi, multigrain atta, sattu
Papad, vadiyalu and sun-dried
Appadam, sabudana vadiyalu, chips, dried greens
Dry snacks and namkeen
Chekkalu, murukku, millet snacks, roasted nuts and seeds, laddus
Honey and dry sweeteners
Raw honey, jaggery, palm jaggery, dry fruit bites
Not yet — and exactly why
If you make one of these, please still write to us so we know you are there. We would rather tell you what has to exist first than quietly not reply.
- Paneer, curd and fresh dairy
- Needs an unbroken cold chain from her unit to the society gate. We do not have one yet.
- Ghee and edible oils
- Needs lab adulteration testing on every batch before it can carry a label.
- Fresh rotis and cooked food
- Same-day shelf life, so it has to be made inside our own licensed kitchen.
How it starts
From one message to a weekly order
No forms to chase, no registration fee, and nothing agreed until you have seen it in writing.
- 1
Tell us what you make
Send one WhatsApp message or an email to hello@rozbasket.com with what you make, roughly how much you can make in a day, and where you are. A photo of the product is more useful than a description.
- 2
We taste it, and we come and see
We try the product, and then we visit the place it is made. Nothing is agreed before that visit — how it is made matters as much as how it tastes.
- 3
One trial batch, into two societies
Your product goes to two societies as a small batch. Real households, real feedback, no commitment on either side beyond that batch.
- 4
Quantity and price, agreed in writing
If the trial works, we agree a weekly quantity and a price per unit in writing before you make anything else. You keep your own recipe and you are free to sell elsewhere too — there is no exclusivity.
- 5
You make. We do the rest.
Every week we tell you the quantity, collect it from your unit, pack it, label it, sell it and deliver it. You are paid per consignment on the terms in the agreement — not when the last packet sells.
Who this is for
Is this you?
- The business is owned or run by a woman, and she is the one making the product
- The unit is in Telangana, or within a day's drive of Hyderabad
- The same batch can be made again the same way, to the same recipe
- The product is shelf-stable at room temperature for at least a month
- She is willing to hold an FSSAI registration in her own name
If you make millet snacks, jowar or bajra flour, or anything else built around whole grains, say so — it goes straight into our millets and health range, which is the fastest-growing part of the catalogue.
Straight talk
What we won't pretend
This is not a grant, a loan or an award.
No money moves until we buy stock from you. What you get is demand you can plan around, and everything between your kitchen and the customer handled by us.
The FSSAI registration has to be in your name.
We cannot put your product on the shelf under our licence — the law requires the manufacturer to hold their own. Registration for a small unit is inexpensive and we will sit with you and fill the form, but it has to be yours.
We will reject a batch, and tell you why.
If the seal, the weight or the taste is off, the batch does not go out. You will hear the reason the same day, in detail, so the next one passes.
We are small, and starting small.
Rozbasket runs morning routes in West Hyderabad. A first listing reaches those societies — a few hundred households, not a few hundred thousand. We would rather you hear that now than be disappointed in month two.

FAQs
What producers ask us
What is Rozbasket Saheli?
Rozbasket Saheli is a sourcing programme for women-led food producers in Telangana — you make the product, and Rozbasket handles demand, packaging, labelling, pricing, delivery and customers. Because household orders close at 11:00 PM the night before, we know demand in advance, so we can tell a producer the quantity for the week before she starts making it and buy that agreed quantity whether or not every unit sells. It is a commercial supply arrangement, not a grant or a charity programme: no money moves until we buy stock. There is no fee to join and no exclusivity — producers stay free to sell elsewhere.
How can I sell my homemade food products in Hyderabad?
Send Rozbasket a WhatsApp message on +91 62970 57698 or an email to hello@rozbasket.com describing what you make, how much you can make in a day, and where you are based. If it is shelf-stable — pickles, podis and spice powders, millet flours, papad and vadiyalu, dry snacks, honey or jaggery — we taste it, visit the place it is made, and run a trial batch into two societies before anything is agreed. You do not need a brand, a website, packaging, a shop or any e-commerce experience: Rozbasket does the packing, labelling, photography, listing, delivery and customer service, and you make the product. The one thing that has to be yours is an FSSAI registration in your own name.
Do I need an FSSAI licence to sell homemade pickles or snacks?
Yes — under the FSS (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations every food business in India needs at minimum an FSSAI registration, and it must be held by the person who actually manufactures the food. A small home unit with annual turnover up to ₹12 lakh normally needs only Basic Registration, which is filed on Form A and costs about ₹100 per year; above that it becomes a State Licence. Rozbasket cannot list your product under our licence number, because the law puts that obligation on the manufacturer — but if you join Rozbasket Saheli we will sit with you and fill the form. Confirm the current thresholds and fees on fssai.gov.in before you file.
What products does Rozbasket buy from women producers?
Rozbasket buys shelf-stable products only: pickles and preserves, podis and spice powders, millet and grain flours, papad, vadiyalu and sun-dried items, dry snacks and namkeen, roasted nuts and seeds, and honey or jaggery. The limit is deliberate — everything on that list survives a day in a van in a Telangana summer without refrigeration, and we do not yet run a cold chain. Paneer, curd and other fresh dairy, ghee and edible oils, and freshly made rotis are not accepted yet: dairy needs an unbroken cold chain, oils need batch adulteration testing, and same-day food has to be made inside our own licensed kitchen.
Does Rozbasket pay producers before the product sells?
Producers are paid per consignment on agreed terms, not when the last packet sells — Rozbasket buys the stock rather than taking it on sale-or-return. The quantity and the price per unit are agreed in writing before a producer makes her first paid batch, and the quantity for each week is confirmed to her before she starts making it. That is only possible because Rozbasket collects household orders the night before and knows what a society will take, so the demand is real rather than a forecast.
Can producers outside Hyderabad join Rozbasket Saheli?
Yes — producers anywhere in Telangana, or within a day's drive of Hyderabad, can join. Rozbasket collects from the producer's own unit, so a woman making pickles near Warangal or podis in a village outside Nizamabad is as eligible as one in Hyderabad itself, provided the product is shelf-stable. Delivery to households is still limited to the Hyderabad societies on our morning routes, so a first listing reaches a few hundred households rather than a mass market — we say so up front rather than promise scale we do not have yet.
Does Rozbasket buy non-vegetarian pickles, like chicken or prawn pickle?
Not yet — Rozbasket Saheli buys vegetarian pickles only at the moment, such as mango avakaya, gongura, lemon, tomato, garlic and mixed vegetable. A non-vegetarian pickle falls under a different FSSAI product category and needs storage, a packing bench and handling kept separate from vegetarian stock, and a large share of the households on our society routes order vegetarian only — so we would rather say no today than list it badly. Please still write to us if that is what you make: we keep the list, and it is the first thing we look at when a separate non-vegetarian line is possible. Anything else you make that is vegetarian and shelf-stable we can look at right now.
I already sell my food products to neighbours and on WhatsApp. Can I still join Rozbasket Saheli?
Yes — there is no exclusivity in Rozbasket Saheli, so you keep every customer you already have and go on selling wherever else you sell. The weekly quantity we agree is bought on top of whatever you sell yourself, not instead of it, and you keep your own recipe; nothing stops you selling under your own name elsewhere. Most women who write to us are already doing exactly this — making something good for a circle of neighbours and running out of ways to reach anyone past that circle. You can also supply more than one product: tell us everything you make and we will taste all of it before deciding what to start with.
One message is enough to start.
Tell us what you make and where you are. If it is something we can sell, we will come and taste it.
